Naughty but Nice Cufflinks - Drew Darcy
In this new collection I wanted to visualise seduction. I wanted to balance the images on the fine line of sexual tension, but keeping on the right side of sophistication. Each piece is dramatised in directional lighting. What I tried to express is a sense of performance and sexual emotion. Her surroundings are ambiguous and placed in a timeless space, with an absense of decade and era.
Each pose is cropped in such a way as to invite you in; a window to your fantasy. I've carefully choreographed out gestures and each pose plays out to form subtle expression without the need to unveil her, thus keeping her anonymity and mystery. I'm trying to convey the current evaluation of feminine beauty. Asking the question, what are the visual values of attraction and can it be given a greater depth and emotion?
My carefully chosen colour scheme is a combination of red, black and various skin tones, these are designed to maximise and capture universal attention. Although I made the images provocative, I also wanted to keep some natural innocence. I've done this by covering her modesty with her gestures and allowing the viewer's mind's eye to wonder in their own imagination.
