Valentino Rossi recorded his historic hundreth Grand Prix victory at the Dutch MotoGP in Assen in June 2009.

The 2009 season saw Valentino Rossi secure his seventh world MotoGP championship and the ninth Grand Prix Championship of his career after finishing third in the rain delayed Malaysan Grand Prix in Sepang.
